You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are currently looking for a PhD candidate to work on a project titled Detecting and assessing hail impacts on solar energy prosumers: a datainformed approach. This project examines the influence of extreme weather events especially hailstorms on the performance of solar panels and their electricity output. The expected outcome is to produce a white paper for industry peers insurance entities and government stakeholders. The potential benefits are to enhance understanding and drive innovation in mitigating the effects of environmental stressors on photovoltaic systems. Success in this role requires collaboration with CSIRO and Resinc Solar.
The CSIRO Industry PhD Program (iPhD) is a fouryear research training program focusing on applied research that benefits industry by solving realworld challenges. It aims to produce the next generation of innovation leaders with the skills to work at the interface of research and industry in Australia.

Successful students are subject to the policies procedures and guidelines of Griffith University in addition to the CSIRO Industry PhD Program terms and conditions. Students will receive a standard PhD on completion.
Qualifications :
The selection of applicants for the award of higher degree research scholarships at Griffith University involves consideration of your academic merit and research background. To be successful within this role you will have a strong background or interest in renewable energy or related fields with expertise in data analytics and experimental methodologies. You will have evidence of a passion for research and problemsolving with a strong desire in addressing realworld challenges facing the solar energy industry.

About the scholarship
The 2025 CSIRO (iPhD) Scholarship has an annual stipend of $47000 (indexed) for a period of up to four years of fulltime study with an additional Project Expense and Development package of $13000 per annum.
