Job Description

General Summary Of Duties:

Using basic policies and procedures established in Paradise Gift Shop/Hotel assist guests with purchases while maintaining a clean store appearance.

Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)

 

  1. Walk up to guest talk to them and assist guests with any item wanted. (Kneel to check items at a low point or use step ladder to pick up items from high point) and direct them to wherever they need to go.
  2. Continuously walking/standing within guest proximity to provide immediate feedback on product knowledge loss prevention and performing department operations for productivity.
  3. Using cleaning equipment kneel stretch and bend to dust  store while using step ladder to climb to higher location to pick up merchandise to hang steam and ticket to place on sales.
  4. Use basic procedures established in the Shop; communicate with guests to help them purchase items while still maintaining a clean store appearance.

 

Performance Requirements: (Knowledge skills and abilities)

  1. Answer the multiline telephone and provide information as needed.
  2. Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive clear speaking voice answer questions and offer assistance giving accurate information regarding outlet hours other hotel services directions to local attractions or function rooms car rentals airline shuttle service etc..
  3. Respond to guest inquiries.  Provide guest satisfaction through assistance direction and information within hotel guidelines.
  4. Ability to listen effectively read write speak and understand the English language clearly to ascertain and document important information to follow written and/or verbal instructions to provide clear direction/guidance and to communicate with other employees/management.
  5. Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register make change total guest checks count total bank prepare cash drops and total all other charges.
  6. Check station before during and after shift for proper setup and cleanliness.
  7. CLEAN AS YOU GO Keep your workstation neat and orderly and perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned to adhere to standards.
  8. Detailed recording keeping in English is required for logs and inspection sheets.
  9. Respond to guest complaints in a positive manner negotiate a compromise and implement a solution.
  10. Ability to effectively deal with internal/external customers some of whom will require patience tact and diplomacy to defuse anger collect accurate information and solve customer concerns.
  11. Ability to operate store without direct supervision at all times.
  12. Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards.
  13. Ability to maintain a neat clean and wellgroomed appearance.
  14. No sitting on work shift in uniform attire.

Qualifications :

 

Education Requirements

Any combination of education training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.

 

 


Additional Information :

Typical physical / mental demands

  1. Ability to walk/stand and work 90% of shift performing cashiering stocking and routine operational procedures assigned by department management.
  2. Ability to climb ladders step stools and work 10% of shift.  Obtaining stock and department merchandise presentation visual standards.
  3. Ability to read write speak and understand the English language in order to complete inventories operate cash register and communicate with guests.
  4. Ability to read write speak and understand the English language in case of emergency situations and to be able to read caution and/or safety notices.
  5. Ability to read write speak and understand the English language in order to complete job requirements and communicate with management other employees and guests.
  6. Ability to read write speak and understand the English language sufficient to understand verbal/written requests from supervisor other employees and guests.

 

 

Typical Working Condition:

May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to: second hand smoke excessive noise and constant interaction with the general public.
