Job Description
To support the growth of the Company VHIT Purchasing department is looking for a motivated candidate to cover the role of Commodity Buyer.
As a Commodity Buyer you will:
- manage the metallic commodity (Aluminum Die Casting and Cast Iron parts);
- support the Purchasing Project Manager & Supplier Quality Manager during the new component development;
- define Commodity/Suppliers Strategy;
- handle supplier selection according to Total Cost of Ownership criteria.
In addition you will be the key point of contact for any business strategic communication and escalation with supplier including reporting to management in dedicated committees. You will also assume responsibility for the commodity or material field including supplier strategy and scouting negotiation business bundling contracting ordering and supplier database management.
Finally you will be in charge for Change Management ECR for purchased parts applicable for multiple project and management of the Engineering Change Requests and introduction of DesigntoCost ideas for new or series projects.
Qualifications :
Education: Mechanical automation engineering or similar academic background.
Experience and Know How: 3 years of experience in the automotive industry or similar experience in large organizations and complex project environments.
Technical knowledge: Basic knowledge of powertrain components; Basic understanding of the main automotive industry production processes; Microsoft Office (Excel Word Powerpoint Project).
Personality: goalorientation and selfdriven with entrepreneurial mindset strong communication and team working skills.
Language skills: Fluent English.
