Job Description
In a time of unprecedented expansion we are seeking a Director to oversee our DevOps team that support specific products. In this role you will be responsible for the strategic planning and multiyear roadmaps for each team. The position requires providing leadership and coaching to the teams as they build new services and enhance legacy services. The ideal applicant has a solid technical background ample experience working with engineering teams and largescale practical experience with infrastructure platform container frameworks.
A day in the office looks like this:
- Managing the continuous improvement of monitoring/alerting capabilities and incident management
- Embracing a DevOps mentality and ensuring the models success building a culture of shared responsibility and transparency that leads to higher quality and quicker delivery of output
- Leverage industry best practices and experience to ensure that security is baked into deliverables from the start and that the project/program fully embraces a DevOps DevSecOps and shiftleft mentality
- Managing and growing an enterprise DevOps/CloudOps team
- Understanding our required frameworks and regulatory rules to consistently achieve success and meet requirements in all areas of your responsibility and influence
- Building and evolving monitoring and analytics systems to evaluate uptime/availability usage and performance metrics
- Driving adoption of industrystandard methodologies and practices for infrastructure as code deployment observability load and resiliency testing and reliability
- Advocating adoption of Agile new ways of working and a continuous improvement framework to drive efficiency and enable business agility
- Ensuring the team workstreams and projects are well managed and that appropriate tracking and reporting are undertaken
- Implementing a communications strategy and keeping a businessvalue focus
- Leading incident response efforts including coordinating with other teams to investigate and resolve incidents
Qualifications :
- BS in Computer Science Computer Engineering or related technical discipline or commensurate relevant experience.
- 8 years of experience in a CloudOps role
- 8 years of experience with IaaS Platforms (AWS and/or Azure preferred).
- Proficient in automation using Batch Powershell Ruby Python or shell scripts
- Experience with Kubernetes Docker Jenkins or Ansible
- Experience with Networking Routing DNS & Load Balancing
- Proven ability to learn new concepts and remain up to date with new technologies.
- Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle including CI/CD pipeline architecture and processes in addition to automation tools (Azure DevOps Jenkins Terraform GitLab etc.)
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fastpaced environment.
- Experience in agile development processes.
- Experience with creating SQL scripts and administering PostgreSQL.
- Strong experience with modern application development workflows and version control systems like GitHub Gitlab or Bitbucket.
