Job Description
AHRC New York City is seeking FullTime Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their Bronx Day Program. The pay rate for this position is between $17$18 per hour depending on driving status. SCHEDULE: Monday thru Friday 8hrs shift
Responsibilities:
- Work with participants by assisting them to learn and develop social skills daily living skills and habits.
- Accompany participants to appointments community outings and other activities.
- Complete progress notes and make entries into the daily log book.
Qualifications :
- Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
- Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver and the ability to keep up to date pertaining to such knowledge and interpret same.
- Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
- Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants families staff and community agencies.
- High School diploma or GED is required.
