Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks Part Time Clinical Instructors interested in teaching students in our Bachelors of Science in Nursing program.

We are presently accepting applications for candidates who have interest in teaching in the following specialties:

Fundamental Nursing Skills Content focuses on health promotion and the rehabilitative aspects of patient care. Students provide direct patient care in the acquisition of skills and concepts of professional nursing. The nursing process is utilized as the student implements basic aspects of nursing practice. 

 

Complex Adult Health Adult patients with unstable emergent critical illnesses are the focus of this course. Students integrate nursing technological and scientific knowledge with clinical judgment to potentiate optimal health with a diverse patient population. Students utilize comprehensive assessment techniques advanced nursing skills and multiple nursing modalities to maximize optimal health. A variety of population and settings are used in the experiential learning component of this course.

Capstone Final Clinical

The course facilitates the students transition into professional nursing through an exploration of trends and issues in professional nursing and participation in experientialbased nursing experiences. This culminating clinical practicum focuses on refining skills in the delivery and management of nursing care within the context of legal ethical and evidencebased practice.

 

MentalHealth Nursing Emphasis is on the dynamics of an individuals ability to function in society. The course focuses on content relative to anxiety self concept thought disorders mood alterations addictive behaviors organic brain dysfunction abuse and violence issues. It also incorporates health promotion and wellness issues such as stress management and personal growth. Therapeutic communication techniques individual and group therapy practices and community mentalhealth resources are also incorporated. 

 

Pediatric Nursing You will be mentoring students in a clinical setting while they demonstrate nursing skills and procedures. Familycentered care of children is the focus of this course exploring issues of normal child care as well as health alterations of children from infancy through adolescence. Students participate as members of the multidisciplinary health team to provide health promotion illness prevention health restoration and maintenance and rehabilitative care to children and families. 

 

Adult Health (MedicalSurgical) Nursing The focus of this course is on the needs of adult patients and their families in relation to health promotion and management of conditions that require acute and chronic care. The nursing process is used in the discussion of health alterations affecting selected life processes. Students continue their professional skill development as members of the health team.

 

MaternalChild Nursing  This course focuses on familycentered approaches to maternal/newborn care and incorporates health promotion and wellness issues. The childbearing cycle including normal experience highrisk factors complications and alterations are studied. Additional womens health issues are included.
 

Community Health Nursing Theory and concepts of community/public/global health utilizing levels of prevention are presented in this course. The public/community health nurses role as a partner with the community to shape conditions supportive of health is emphasized through application of the nursing process beginning with the assessment of the communitys health wellness needs and available resources. Planning organization and delivery of service for populations at risk are tied to Healthy People 2020 goals with an introduction to political and sociocultural aspects of community demographic and epidemiological methods.

 

Collaborative Health (Leadership) This course is designed to expand the scope of the nursing practice for senior nursing students. Course and clinical activities provided to traditional students focus on leadership and management aspects of the professional nurse.

Proof of COVID19 vaccination may be required to teach at certain clinical partner sites

Qualifications :

You are encouraged to explore this opportunity if you have:

  • A masters or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university
  • An unencumbered professional nursing license 
  • At least two years professional experience within last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse
  • Proof of COVID19 vaccination may be required to teach at certain clinical partner sites
  • Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required
  • Have genuine passion for nursing education and lifelong learning
  • Have exceptional subject matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Are eager to serve students and colleagues with passion respect and care

Additional Information :

Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position Campus:
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country the expected compensation rate for this position is between $1120 per assignment to $7245 per assignment depending on the candidates education and experience.

Actual pay may be adjusted based on jobrelated factors permitted by law such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
