Job Description

The Depot Manager position at Biffa Waste Services is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the waste management depot. They will ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while optimizing service delivery.

Job Purpose

The key objective of the Depot Manager is to ensure that the waste management depot operates efficiently and effectively. This includes managing the depots resources overseeing the execution of waste management processes and analyzing operational performance to drive improvements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage the daytoday operations of the waste management depot including overseeing the collection transportation and disposal of waste.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Optimize service delivery by monitoring operational performance analyzing data and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Manage the depots budget including the allocation of resources and cost control measures.
  • Lead and motivate a team of waste management staff providing guidance training and performance management.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders to coordinate waste management activities and resolve issues.

Qualifications :

Required Qualifications
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Solid understanding of waste management processes and regulations.
  • Problemsolving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Financial acumen for budget management and cost control.
  • Ability to analyze operational performance data and identify areas for improvement.
  • Experience in logistics or fleet management may be beneficial.
