We are searching for our next Behaviour Support Practitioner to work with NDIS participants in and around the North Lakes QLD region in a community based setting.
Whilst previous experience working as a BSP is an advantage we are also open to applications from those who have extensive experience working in the disability sector as this role will see you working with adults and children with disabilities and challenging behaviours.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting NDIS participants along with their families and/or carers to identify their needs through assessment and personcentred planning
- Evaluating developing and delivering evidencebased support plans within a complex support space
- Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive behaviour support framework and with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices in the home and community
- Ensuring individual plans reflect our NDIS participants goals passions and strengths as well as ensuring they get more out of life
- Building the knowledge capacity and strengths of those who support participants in their lives family carers friends etc
- Acting as an advocate and role model for best practice
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications :
To be considered suitable you will have:
- Extensive experience working in the NDIS and supporting those with disabilities and challenging behaviours
- Understanding of Behaviour Support and Restrictive Practices
- Eligible to apply for suitability with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
- Completed a degree level qualification as an allied health professional
- Hold and maintain membership/registration with one of the following: AHPRA ESSA SPA AOB ANZACATA AASW
- Report writing experience
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
- Proactive attitude motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas
- Genuine passion for working in the disability sector
