The role

Viaplays team of lawyers work cross border to service Viaplays business
teams. You will be acting as a business partner primarily to the Product Data & Tech team who develops and handles the underlying technical platform for the streaming service Viaplay as well as our linear TVchannels and who also provides inhouse technical services.

You will work close to the business advising on legal risk management
and developing effective risk mitigation strategies. You will report to VP Legal Norway.

Your primary responsibility will be:

• Drafting and negotiating material contracts (e.g. for broadcast services playout arrangements OTT content delivery conditional access application development IT procurement software licensing etc) in close cooperation with our inhouse procurement team and supporting the business in implementing and coordinating such contracts through contract management and other processes

• Coordinating with your colleagues in the legal team around contract guidelines and directives of general relevance such as default clauses and risk tolerance levels and on contract management efforts benefiting the whole Viaplay group

• Building and developing business selfservice structures through training contract templates checklists etc. to enable the business to itself manage certain legal matters

• Work with the business to prepare for the implementation of the European Accessibility Act

• Developing and coordinating structures and processes to share area specific legal and other relevant knowledge with colleagues in the legal team to help develop and capture team knowhow

What were looking for

In order to thrive in this role you have the following qualifications:

• Master of Law (or equivalent) degree from any of the Nordic countries.
• Experience (between 5 8 years) negotiating and drafting commercial agreements specifically related to IT & tech as an inhouse counsel in an international company or at a reputable business law firm.
• Its considered extra merit if you have possessed a similar role within the broadcast/streaming industry or a provider of digital service and thus is familiar with the market landscape and corresponding terminology.
• Fluent in Swedish or Norwegian and English.
• Business and solution oriented and great relationship builder able to create trust for the legal department in the business and to deliver pragmatic and actionable legal advice to people at all levels.
• A cando attitude sense of humor and the ability to work humbly with others.
