Job Description
Eurofins Environment Testing Southwest Tustin CA is searching for an Operations DirectorOrganics to monitor and support the daily activities of the Organic Chemistry Group Staff to ensure ontime delivery of analytical data in adherence with Eurofins Quality Assurance programs and SOPs.
Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Evaluation and prioritization of the sample backlog to meet method due dates
- Final data review of analyses and procedures to ensure accuracy and quality
- Ability to understand P&L KPIs and manage the departmental costs such as PC Building Costs Consumables and Logistics
- Ensure department compliance with all SOPs and QAQC program requirements
- Maintenance of department training records as is required by various Eurofins programs i.e. QAQC EH&S etc.
- Write review and evaluate standard operating procedures
- Schedule hire and train laboratory personnel to meet production goals
- Maintenance of all balance and volumetric calibration programs as required by the QAQC program
- Maintenance and repair of support equipment and instrumentation
- Coordination and maintenance of consumables solvents standards reagents and other supplies to ensure uninterrupted production within the department
- Identify process improvement opportunities recommend solutions and implement action plans
- Evaluate new technology and instrumentation to streamline department processes
- Represent the departments in an informed and professional manner during internal and external audit events
- Perform chemist duties as needed to support department production goals and ontime delivery of data.
- Perform general housekeeping within the laboratory to maintain an organized and safe working environment
- Conduct daily duties in an efficient and safe manner remaining compliant with environmental health and safety programs
- Perform other laboratory duties as assigned
- Communicate and coordinate with the analytical department and project management team to ensure data is delivered on time and that any delays or problems are communicated in a timely manner.
- Reports Directly to the Business Unit Manager
Qualifications :
The ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:
- 7 years experience working in a production laboratory setting (VOA SVOA AIR) required.
- 2 years of prior management experience preferred.
- BS or BA in chemistry or related field
- Effective time management and multitasking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Overtime and availability during off hours if required
