Job Description
Eurofins are seeking a Business Unit Manager who will be responsible for the operational delivery and profitable growth of an NGS laboratory within the Genomics business line in Germany.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the safe efficient and highquality operation of a genomics laboratory in Konstanz Germany.
- Leading and developing a team of approx. 35 FTEs ensuring the lab operates to the required standards inline with the QMS.
- Hiring motivating developing and retaining excellent managers and employees within your business.
- Taking accountability for the P&L of the business unit and managing costs inline with the budget for the financial year.
- Developing methods to reduce cost increase profitability and improve operations efficiency & turnaround times to meet best industry standards in all activities.
- Working with the senior team to ensure results are being reported correctly and in a timely manner.
- Being a technical expert for the business and our customers.
- Working closely with sales and translate customers requirements into the operations (e.g. new method development Service Level performance).
- Ensuring all equipment is maintained and serviced to the correct standard so it is safe to operate and fully calibrated.
- Ensuring that process parameters are respected; issuing deviation reports pinpointing the root causes and taking preventive actions to enhance the process efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications :
- Academic education (at least university Bachelor level) with very good grades in science/related field is required
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a managerial role with team management responsibility and a focus on production reengineering and industrialization
- An understanding of NGS legislative requirements and industry standards is preferable.
- Good working knowledge of laboratories with a clear understanding of the key elements such a business involves
- Handson diligent a doer with a common sense approach
- Able to build and structure business plans submissions and initiatives.
