Why This Role is Important
The Data in Platform team is at the heart of our product ensuring that everything runs smoothly for our 8000 users. As the backbone of the platform the team primarily focuses on building a platform that enables continuous data retrieval and storage ensuring our customers always have access to fresh and relevant information.
We are looking for someone who can bring fresh perspectives from various areas like distributed computing largescale system design architecture and other related areas. At Funnel youll play a critical role in our continued growth with opportunities to develop as the company expands!
About the Engineering Team & Role
Our teams have clear ownership of their product areas making daily decisions in close collaboration both within and across teams as well as with stakeholders. We work in small iterative cycles experimenting learning and updating the product multiple times a day
The Data in Platform team is deeply invested in a microservice architecture hosted on AWS managing over 50 services daily. Even minor changes can have a significant impact on the systems overall cost and performance giving you the opportunity to make meaningful contributions.
At Funnel our engineers handle everything from designing system architecture to implementation deploying and monitoring our services. We put our customers first and always strive to design products that address their needs and go above and beyond.
The Data in Platform team exclusively works with Rust and AWS focusing on building and optimizing systems with these technologies.
Skills & Experience Were Looking For
Approximately 10 years of experience with systems programming languages such as C/C Go and/or Java.
Openness to learning Rust (or expanding existing Rust knowledge).
Handson experience with cloud infrastructure and operations (AWS or GCP preferred).
Care for system security and best practices.
A number of years of experience working with distributed systems and challenges such as scalability.
Familiarity with agile methodologies and collaborative teambased workflows.
Excellent communication skills with fluent English proficiency.

Design build and maintain scalable reliable systems.
Lead and contribute to technical decisions that impact the team and the broader organization.
Collaborate closely with your team everyday to ensure high standards for code quality and system performance.
