Job Description
- Multiple full time permanent positions available based in Dandenong South VIC for early 2025 commencement.
- Morning (8am 4pm) Afternoon (2pm 10pm) and Night (8pm 4am) shift available along with potential weekend shifts. *Cover letter must highlight shift preference and availability.
- An extra 1.5% superannuation paid on top of standard national super rate.

Reporting to the Team Leader the Laboratory Technician will primarily be responsible for sample preparation and analysis. Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:
- Receiving and sorting water samples assigning tests in accordance with the ELVIS database and preparing batch sheets on Microsoft Excel.
- Extracting analytes from water / soil samples as directed by the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Combining water extractions concentrating the solution and vialing in accordance with the SOP and vialing soil extractions (without concentration) in accordance with the SOP.
- Ensuring traceability of samples prepared or vialed.
- Performing quality control tests.
- Prioritising samples accordingly as per turn around times (urgent samples)
- Discarding waste in accordance with safety and environmental considerations.
Qualifications :
To be successful in this role the ideal candidate will obtain the following:
- A tertiary qualification in Science or equivalent would be highly regarded.
- General preference and comfort in technical environments.
- Desire to continually learn and improve.
- Ability to be a handson hard worker and a doer.
