Chemist III - GCGCMS SVOA Su-Th Eurofins Environment Testing Calscience Tustin CA

Eurofins Environment Testing Southwest Tustin CA is searching for a SVOA Chemist III to prepare and analyze environmental samples following EPA protocols in adherence with Eurofins Quality Assurance programs and SOPs.

Duties will include but are not limited to the following:

• Extract and prepare samples for analysis by GC and GCMS
• Evaluate chromatography and mass spectra for qualitative and quantitative criteria
• Monitor and manage sample backlog workload to meet client program requirements
• Upload and peer review data using the laboratory information management system (LIMS)
• Perform basic instrument maintenance and repair including column replacement and ion source cleaning
• Prepare standards and reagents for sample analysis
• Maintain instrument calibrations in accordance with laboratory QAQC requirements.
• Evaluate methods and procedures for efficiency and accuracy improvement opportunities
• Evaluate new instrumentation and technology for implementation in the laboratory
• Work with department managers and lab staff to develop and validate new instrumentation and methodologies to ensure targeted timelines are met
• Assist with creation of standard operating procedures
• Troubleshooting issues with instrumentation equipment procedures and methods
• Perform general housekeeping within the laboratory to maintain an organized and safe working environment
• Conduct daily duties in an efficient and safe manner remaining compliant with environmental health and safety programs
• Perform other laboratory duties as assigned

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:

• 5 years experience operating a GC or GCMS in an environmental production laboratory setting preferred.
• BS or BA in chemistry or related field; 3 years laboratory analytical experience may substitute for a degree
• Experience with GC and GCMS repair and maintenance
• Effective time management and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently following written and verbal instructions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement including the ability to read write and speak in English
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information :

Compensation Range: $26 $32 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.

Position is fulltime with a Sunday Thursday 7am 4pm shift with possible overtime as needed.
