Our Client is seeking an experienced and detailoriented Auto Body Paint Prepper to join their team. The Auto Body Paint Prepper will be responsible for preparing vehicles for painting by performing various tasks such as sanding masking and priming. The successful candidate must have a thorough understanding of automotive painting techniques and the ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect vehicles for damage and identify areas that require paint preparation
- Sand surfaces using hand or power tools to remove rust scratches and dents
- Mask and tape areas that are not to be painted
- Apply primer to surfaces to prepare them for paint
- Remove masking and clean surfaces to prepare them for paint application
- Follow established safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment
- Clean and maintain equipment and tools including sanders grinders and spray guns
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Auto Body Paint Prepper or related field
- Thorough understanding of automotive painting techniques including sanding masking and priming
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity with the ability to stand bend and stoop for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with other team members
- Valid drivers license
Certifications:
- ASE (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence) certification in Painting and Refinishing is a plus
- ICAR (InterIndustry Conference on Auto Collision Repair) certification in Painting and Refinishing is preferred
