Contracts Associate II Research Contracts Team

An opportunity is available for a Contracts Associate II to join a Research Contracting team providing support and advice to scientific and research leaders and contributing to the overall mission of advancing cancer research through legal expertise in research contracts.

Role Overview

  • Contract Management: Independently manage contracts from creation to execution.
  • Agreement Review: Review negotiate finalize and amend agreement terms and conditions to align with institutional policies with minimal direction from legal counsel.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Communicate and provide updates to internal stakeholders as requested.
  • System Maintenance: Maintain and update relevant contract systems and databases.
  • Support Development: Assist in the development and implementation of contract guidance documents workflows policies and tools for tracking and managing agreements.
  • Special Projects: Assist with special projects and other jobrelated activities as assigned.

Key Qualifications

  • Education: Juris Doctor with 02 years of experience preferred; will consider candidates with 24 years of relevant experience without JD.
  • Experience: Experience in reviewing and negotiating research contracts (e.g. Materials Transfer Agreements Data Transfer Agreements Amendments and other academic researchrelated agreements) preferably in an academic or nonprofit institution.
  • Interest: Demonstrated interest in science research and/or healthcare.

Core Skills

  • Writing & Drafting: Excellent writing and drafting skills with a sharp attention to detail.
  • Communication: Ability to develop facilitate and orchestrate effective communication with all team members including research staff administrators and institutional leaders.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fastpaced environment with high volumes of contract requests and deadlines.
  • ImprovementOriented: Enthusiastic about continuous improvement and optimizing workflow efficiency.
