Job Description
Job Title: Medical Technologist
Location: Panama City FL
Shift: 4 days per week rotating weekends
Shift Start Time: 09:00 PM
Shift End Time: 07:30 AM
Scheduled Hours: 40 hours per week
Hourly Pay Range: $27.42 $36.95
Job Overview
As a Medical Technologist you will perform a wide range of laboratory tests in various specialty departments including Hematology Clinical Chemistry Blood Bank Serology Coagulation Urinalysis and Microbiology. Your work will provide essential data for diagnosing treating and preventing disease. You will also manage specimen handling troubleshooting equipment and maintaining quality control standards in the lab.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex analysis of various tests including microscopic immunologic bacteriologic hematologic and chemical procedures.
- Handle specimen receiving and assist with managing lab supplies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve instrument problems and document corrective actions.
- Ensure quality control procedures are followed and document any necessary corrective actions.
- Participate in training new employees or students.
- Participate in phlebotomy and specimen accessioning as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field.
- Open to new graduates with completed clinical experience in a hospital setting.
- Medical Technologist (MT) certification required.
- ASCP certification is preferred but not required.
