Job Description

Position: Purchase Ledger Clerk

Location: Basildon Essex

Hours: 25 hours per week

Salary:

Holiday: 22 days per year plus Bank Holidays (pro rata)

Our client is one the UKs leading Importer and Wholesale Distributor of a wide range of everyday value products. They are looking to appoint a Purchase Ledger Clerk on a permanent and parttime basis.

The Head Office is based in Basildon and there is plenty of onsite parking for staff.

Responsibilities will include

Invoicing

Log all invoices received onto our accounting system then circulate to authorised personnel via a scanner using correct nominal/client codes.

Payments: Processing foreign payments daily and preparing a weekly BACS run for most UK based suppliers.

Supplier Statements

Checking and reconciling supplier statements

Bank: Keeping cash books up to date and posting payments on the system (GBP USD & EUR)

Queries: Respond to any supplier queries promptly and professionally.

Assisting the Accounts team with adhoc jobs.

Ensure that the purchase ledger is as up to date as possible at the month end.

Personal Qualities

Previous experience in a purchase ledger or similar finance role.

Strong computer skills including MS Excel

Good interpersonal skills
