Job Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Thurrock to assist with the appointment of a Procurement Category Manager on a 2.5month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 226.29 298.00 per Day
Responsibilities:
- To work with colleagues to achieve service plan objectives/targets.
- To participate in Employee Development Scheme/Appraisals and contribute to the identification of your own and team development needs
- To actively promote the Councils Equal Opportunity Policy and Diversity Strategy and observe the standard of conduct which prevents discrimination taking place.
- To ensure full compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 etc. the Councils Health and Safety Policy and all locally agreed safe methods of work.
- To fully understand and be aware of the commitment to Section 17 Duty of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 to prevent crime and disorder
Qualifications:
- Broad understanding of Procurement.
- Determines the most appropriate procurement route for each project and prepares reports to decision makers and decision records in compliance with the Council procedures.
- Experience in all aspects of the Public procurement / tendering process including Produces and determines contract specifications.
