Senior IT Project Manager Data and Analytics
Location: Hybrid 12days in Chicago
Job Summary
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management
Manage software/hardware development projects to ensure quality on time and within budget delivery from requirement definition through testing rollout and support.
Create and maintain an information technology project plan communicating tasks milestone dates status and resource allocation.
Perform project planning and sizing activities identify resource requirements and oversee a team capable of producing specified deliverables.
Manage a RAID log on an ongoing basis and facilitate risk mitigation issue resolution and action planning to manage interdependencies.
Identify and communicate major milestones and risks to achieving those milestones positively.
Partner with Executive Stakeholders to build consensus.
Work and associate with the Quality Assurance Team to meet quality standards. Skills Knowledge and Abilities Excellent organization and project management skills Advanced written and oral communication skills with proven ability to deliver clear messages set expectations and build relationships with all groups even when delivering a tough message. Create and maintain a positive work environment by motivating and managing people. Experience developing and implementing project management methodologies and management of a full project lifecycle. Experience developing useful project metrics and applying those metrics. Experience managing complex projects or multiple projects concurrently. Complex projects could be defined by the following factors: o Size and duration of project o Multiple stakeholders o External data/system dependencies Serves as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders. Ability to coordinate efforts across multiple IT functional teams to accomplish project objectives. Proficient in Project Management tools (i.e. MS Project) or similar project tool (s) Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite spreadsheets word processing presentation development Task and Deliverables Execute tasks as assigned by Portfolio Manager or assigned by IT Leader. Ownership of and responsibility for the following deliverables: o Project plan. o Project financials. o Project status reporting. o Steerco material as needed. o Any additional deliverables to be defined as part of PMO framework.
Technical Skills Required (Top 3)
Experience: 10 years in IT project management focusing on Data and Analytics projects.
Project Management: Lead endtoend project management for data and analytics initiatives including scoping planning execution monitoring and closure.
Budget Oversight: Manage project budgets ensuring efficient resource allocation while achieving desired outcomes.
Oversee the design development and deployment of data architectures databases and analytics solutions leveraging Azure Cloud Data Lake Databricks and related tools.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication leadership and organizational skills with a proven ability to manage complex projects and diverse teams.
Tools and Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile Scrum and Waterfall project management methodologies.
Expertise with project tracking tools like ADO Boards (Backup JIRA)
Proficient in Project Management tools (i.e. MS Project) or similar project tool (s)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite spreadsheets word processing presentation development
Technical Skills: Nice to Have
SCRUM certified preferred
PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
