Job Description
Job Title: Sr. Business Analyst
Location: IL/Chicago Hybrid
Duration: 6 Months
Job Description:
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business terms
- Very strong writing abilities
- Very strong ability to create presentations with a quality design
- Expertise in Google Suite
- Expertise in business analysis tools (e.g. process modeling requirements documentation project management software)
- Ability to handle competing priorities and ensure ontime project delivery
- Familiarity with IT project management methodologies (e.g. Agile)
Questions:
- 5 years of experience in business analysis preferably within the public sector or large institutions
- 5 years of experience in information technology preferably within the public sector or large institutions
- 5 years of experience with transportation industry preferably within the public sector
- Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and cross1functional teams.
- Proficiency in developing business cases conducting feasibility studies and facilitating project documentation
Description:
Advanced Requirements Management:
- Act as a strategic partner to business units by eliciting analyzing prioritizing and documenting complex business requirements for the Transportation project that contribute to Organizations mission.
- Ensure solutions are technically sound and align with Organizations broader goals including the 5Year Plan and other strategic initiatives.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:
- Serve as a key point of contact between the Transportation team and ITS project teams ensuring that stakeholder needs are met while aligning projects with
- Organizations districtwide objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Organization leadership and the
- Transportation team facilitating ongoing communication and problemsolving.
Business Case Development & Decision Support:
Facilitate the creation of detailed business cases costbenefit analyses process flow diagrams and options evaluations to support strategic decisionmaking at Organization.
Project Oversight & Operational Efficiency:
- Engage leadership in validating and approving requirements to ensure satisfaction and value delivery.
- Monitor testing and validation processes to ensure that all solutions meet agreed1upon requirements and are thoroughly vetted before implementation.
- Continuous Improvement & Documentation
- Own the documentation of critical business processes process flow diagrams requirements and lessons learned ensuring that Organization benefits from ongoing process improvements
Knowledge transfer Performance Milestones:
- Complete onboarding and training including any certification requirements to achieve business analysis certification if not already achieved.
- Participate in weekly checkins with the Manager of IT Business Partnership to report on progress challenges and accomplishments.
- Provide weekly progress reports on all projects including time spent challenges encountered and status updates.
- Establish strong relationships with business units to enhance collaboration and ensure alignment with Organizationspecific tools and practices.
