Position Summary
At KIPP Public Schools Northern California there is a need for intensive English Language support for all of our multilingual learners. The ELD teacher reports to the School Leader and will facilitate pushin and pullout lessons using researchbased ELD standardsaligned curriculum. Below are the expectations of all teachers working in KIPP Northern California:

Teachers are expected to plan organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a TK12 learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic and socioemotional potential. Work is performed under the supervision of the principal.

This is a schoolbased role and the expectation is to be onsite 5 days a week.
Preferred Qualifications
Hold a B.A/B.S degree from a regionally accredited institution
Meet one of the following eligibility requirements:
Hold a valid teaching credential in the subject of your desired role or
Eligibility for a General Education Limited Assignment Permit or
Eligibility for a Provisional Internship Permit or
Eligibility for a Short Term Staff Permit
Experience as an educator teaching Black and Brown students for one or more years (preferred)
Spanish or Vietnamese speaking (preferred)
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Lead an academically rigorous classroom through activities such as:
Teach curricula aligned to ELD standards and Common Core ELA standards
Assess and analyze students performance and progress to ensure they are mastering developmental skills regularly and responding to data to support all scholars to achieve academic success
Build Relationships with our students passionate staff and committed families by:
Maintain an open line of communication with families
Work to maintain a positive culture on campus by building strong relationships with students and staff members
Successfully strike a balance of warm and demanding in your communication with students
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior for a productive learning environment during class sessions
Physical Mental and Environmental Demands
Physical: Ability to navigate school and classroom settings. Ability to access and utilize technology. Occasional lifting/carrying of equipment 120 lbs. Physical agility to move self in various positions in order to execute duties effectively which may include kneeling walking pushing/pulling squatting twisting turning bending stooping and reaching overhead.
Mental: Stress of deadlines and normal work standards ability to analyze problems and generate alternatives work with interruptions concentrate for long periods of time read calculate perform routine math problems memorize and recall objects and people.
Environmental: School and classroom environment subject to constant interruptions and distractions. Adhere to KIPPs health and safety guidelines as outlined by the CDC CDE and public health agencies recommendations.
Classification
This is a fulltime exempt position on a school year calendar cycle located at our school sites.
