Job Description
As a JavaScript Department Lead you will play a pivotal role in driving technical excellence while nurturing talent and fostering a collaborative culture. This hybrid role blends leadership with handson development offering you the chance to make a direct impact on both the product and the people behind it.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Inspire and guide your team through organisational changes and challenges providing mentorship and motivation.
- Conduct 1:1s deliver constructive feedback and manage 360degree reviews.
- Set measurable goals and OKRs ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Identify training needs and support professional growth for team members.
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:
- Lead hiring initiatives to attract toptier talent.
- Ensure a seamless onboarding experience for team members.
- Engineering Excellence:
- Design and implement features that power nextgen games and the platform behind them.
- Deliver clean highquality code through rigorous testing and attention to detail.
- Diagnose and resolve complex systems issues
- Proactively identify and address obstacles to team productivity by implementing solutions that improve workflows provide clear guidance and streamline processes.
- Collaborative Innovation:
- Work closely with crossfunctional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Act as Ambassador for Frontend Development initiatives on a global scale.
This role assumes your time is shared between individual contributor activities as well as leadership activities.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in delivering IT projects with a deep understanding of industry best practices.
- Expert knowledge of JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React Node.js) and libraries with a strong grasp of modern development methodologies CI/CD pipelines and scalable architecture principles as applied to Evolution products.
- Excellent command of English both spoken and written.
- Ability to work in a fastmoving highpressure environment whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
We will appreciate:
- A proven track record of leading motivating and developing teams as well as attracting and retaining top talent.
- Experience with React (or similar DOM libraries) Mobx Redux RxJS Babylon.js PixiJS ThreeJS HTML Canvas modular CSS testing libraries (Jest RTL Playwright WebdriverIO) and JavaScript ecosystem tools (Webpack npm Yarn).
