Job Description
As an Electrical Design Engineer you ll play a critical role in designing and developing cuttingedge electrical systems for industrial projects. From creating detailed schematics to collaborating with global teams your expertise will ensure seamless project execution and compliance with industry standards.
Your Daily Tasks
- Design and develop electrical systems using Eplan for industrial projects including control panels power distribution and instrumentation.
- Prepare detailed electrical schematics wiring diagrams and layout drawings in line with Electro s current design standards.
- Perform load calculations cable sizing and component selection based on project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers mechanical engineers and site teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical designs into overall project execution.
- Work closely with AI engineers and follow directions from Electro s managing director to automate and streamline design document processes using AI technology.
- Collaborate remotely with Electro s senior design engineer to maintain consistency and quality in design work ensuring alignment with previous project standards.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant electrical standards such as NZS3000:2007 and AS / NZS 3008.1.2:2010.
- Utilize Eplan P8 macros and API runtime to optimize design workflows.
- Support the procurement of electrical components by providing technical specifications and ensuring compatibility with the design.
- Provide technical support during the installation commissioning and testing phases of projects.
- Maintain thorough documentation of designs modifications and project progress in accordance with company standards.
- Participate in internal and external design reviews incorporating feedback and ensuring all client requirements are met.
- Identify and troubleshoot design issues and propose efficient solutions.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies related to electrical design and Eplan advancements.
Requirements
The Qualifications We Seek
- Experience: 5 years of electrical design engineering experience in industrial projects particularly within the water/wastewater treatment sector.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Eplan software for electrical design and schematic creation.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles including power distribution control systems instrumentation and safety systems.
- Automation & Streamlining: Experience working with AI engineers and senior leadership to develop automation solutions and streamline design processes.
- Eplan P8 & API: Proficiency with Eplan P8 macros and API runtime.
- Collaboration: Ability to work remotely with senior engineers and collaborate effectively across multiple teams.
- Standards Compliance: Familiarity with relevant electrical standards such as NZS3000:2007 and AS / NZS 3008.1.2:2010.
- ProblemSolving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to resolving electrical system issues.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and thoroughness in design and documentation.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks while meeting deadlines and maintaining highquality work.
- Education: Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Certifications: Relevant industry certifications or professional memberships (preferred but not mandatory).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with other design tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical.
- Knowledge of industrial control systems PLCs and SCADA systems.
- Familiarity with Rockwell Schneider or Siemens hardware and software.
- Experience in site supervision or handson experience with installation and commissioning.
