Job Description
The role requires the successful candidate to become part of a small team responsible for the design development defect correction validation and release of OTX applications in Boschs authoring environment GRADEX. Implementing automotive pinpoint and workshop manual diagnostics according to OEM specifications of components and electronic control units (ECUs).
The role involves dealing directly with the customer and working closely with other members of the development team which includes employees of Bosch other suppliers and representatives of the customer.
Whilst the skills defined in the Qualification section below are desirable a positive attitude to learn new skills and a genuine interest in the subject are equally as important.
- Design and development of vehicle diagnostic strategies. In accordance with designs agreed with the customer.
- Indepth understanding of General OEM requirements for a diagnostic system e.g.
- Concepts such as vehicle electrical system diagnosis.
- Understanding of vehicle electrical wiring diagrams
- Electrical fault finding and diagnosis
- ECU input / output control
- A knowledge of a wide range of power train and body chassis systems fitted to modern motor vehicles. This extends to the components and theory of operation.
- Automotive protocol experience
- Familiarity with principles and methodologies of diagnostic development integration testing techniques.
- Experience with OTX or ODX would be extremely advantageous.
- To work closely in association with customer teams to determine requirements testing and release of diagnostic content.
Qualifications :
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems and wiring diagrams
- Knowledge of vehicle communication networks (CAN VISO14229)
- Knowledge of the automotive business
- Excellent English written and spoken
- Business and customer oriented
- Selfdriven and with the ability to work effectively in a team as well as solo
- Interpersonal and analytical skills
- Able to plan workload.
Additional Information :
Working conditions:
- This role is based on the customer site in Ford Europe Dunton Essex UK.
- This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days a week on the customer site.
