Job Description

Join us for your placement year in summer 2025! Our internships are designed to give you an insight into what its like to work for a worldrenowned brand with a culture of support and community.

Using several different databases and research tools you will assist the Standards Manager in protecting the Companys products from being placed at a disadvantage in the marketplace by forthcoming changes in legislation or standards. You will gain an awareness of how these changes can impact on the business.

In this role you will be responsible for:

Over a 13 month placement the successful candidate will be involved in:

  • Researching processing and recording proposed changes to product related standards and legislation to assist the Standards Manager.
  • Communicating proposed changes in product related standards and legislation to a crossfunctional team of experts (both internal and external). Including taking a proactive part in departmental briefing meetings with a range of audiences in the business.
  • Providing feedback on proposed product related standards and legislation changes to external parties such as Trade Associations Standards Committees and Government Departments.
  • Task ownership of tracking and updating the Early Warning database about proposed changes in product related standards and legislation.
  • Administrative support to the Standards Manager.

Qualifications :

Please note that to be eligible for this role you must be an undergraduate student seeking a placement year as part of your degree if you do not meet these criteria please consider applying for other positions.

  • The successful candidate will be supported to enhance their skills in the above areas during their placement.

Previous successful undergraduates in this role have been reading one of the following academic areas:

  • Mechanical Electrical Electronic or Chemical Engineering
  • Building Sciences
  • Law
  • Business Studies
  • Economics
  • Politics and international relations
  • Geography
  • Biomedical Science

Whom were keen to gain an understanding of how their studies relate to a working environment crossfunctional activities and culture within our business. Whilst also making a positive and proactive contribution to our business processes and activities.

The successful candidate will be supported and encouraged to contribute to departmental practices and communicate with national and international colleagues to meet business goals.

This role may involve hybrid working based on day to day requirements responsibilities and business objectives.

This is a 13 month placement to facilitate a detailed induction / handover from the current intern and subsequently deliver the induction training to your successor.

Contract Duration: 13 months

Working Hours: 39 hours per week standard working pattern of 08:00 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 16:00 Friday with a 1hour lunch break
