This is a PCU/Tele/ICU Stepdown unit. The ICU stepdown unit cares for ER Admissions and ICU transfers who have been hemodynamically stable (SBP 90mmHg or MAP 60) for a minimum of 4 hours who show no signs or symptoms of hypoperfusion. This unit cares for medically stable ventilator patients who are trached administers Cardiac or vasoactive drips/IV meds that are stable such as Nitro Dobutamine Dopamine Ketamine Phenylephrine Norepinephrine Fentanyl and cares for amongst other postop Neuro and complex patient populations. This unit is not a true PCU or stepdown unit has higher acuity patient population. Critical Care experience is highly preferred. General job duties. Types of procedures required. Perform the role of an RN. Care for a patient assignment which includes assessments medication administration helping individualize patients plan of care work in an interdisciplinary setting. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. Computerized Charting (EPIC) Accudose (Omnicell) Bipaps Ventilators Required skills and minimum years of experience. Ventilator experience Telemetry or step down unit experience. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. BLS ACLS and ND or compact state RN license Shift or schedule requirements. 12 hour shifts weekend and holiday requirements. No call Floating to over units/departments. Floating to other units within our cluster (5ABCD and 2E) is expected. If needs within our cluster are met may float to the med/surg units. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept. 16 bed IMC unit however this position will float out to (5ABCD and 2E) to care for IMC status patients on the ICU floors. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. 3 to 4 patient ratio. Ratios based on acuity Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program. Receive ventilator and pacemaker training. Additional Comments: We are often compared to a more acute Progressive Care or StepDown Unit. Our Intermediate Care Unit cares for a vast array of patient populations. We take care of patients who need closer monitoring but don t quite need ICU and are too sick or complex to be on a medicalsurgical unit. It s a challenging fun fastpaced teamwork orientated unit. |
Comments:12 hour shifts. Every other weekend and holiday. Can do 36 or 48 (OT after 48) hour guarantees. might do straight nights or straight days (straight days would be Fri/Sat/Sun) Cannot take any travelers living within a 60 mile radius of the facility. Local travel rate for those living 60 to 80 miles from the facility (client rate will be reduced by . for those travelers).
