Position Title: Oil & Gas (Midstream and Downstream) Commodity Pricing and Trading Expert
Location: Remote (Saint PaulMN)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with deep expertise in Oil & Gas (Midstream and Downstream) operations specifically focused on Commodity Pricing Engines (CPE) Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM) and S/4 HANA Greenfield Implementations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Hydrocarbon Sales Supply Chain (purchase stock transfer) and Pricing in Energy Setups with a proven track record of leading workshops and applying Activate Methodology. The candidate will be responsible for the successful implementation and integration of solutions to optimize pricing risk management and trading processes within the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commodity Pricing Engine (CPE) & Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM):
- Lead the design configuration and implementation of CPE and CTRM solutions for pricing and trading processes within the Midstream and Downstream oil & gas sectors.
- Manage the pricing structure and algorithm configurations for hydrocarbon sales and supply ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal pricing strategies.
- Integrate CTRM systems with other enterprise systems (e.g. SAP S/4 HANA) to enable seamless data flow and realtime decisionmaking.
- Hydrocarbon Sales and Supply Pricing:
- Oversee the development and optimization of pricing models related to hydrocarbon purchases stock transfers and sales in the midstream and downstream sectors.
- Ensure pricing strategies are in line with market dynamics contractual terms and business objectives.
- Work closely with stakeholders to provide pricing solutions that support strategic decisions around supply chain optimization purchasing and sales.
- S/4 HANA Greenfield Implementation:
- Lead S/4 HANA Greenfield implementation projects overseeing the full lifecycle from design through postgolive support ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and data migration processes.
- Ensure that S/4 HANA configuration aligns with industry best practices and companyspecific requirements.
- Work in collaboration with functional teams to deliver cuttingedge solutions using the SAP Activate methodology.
- FittoStandard Workshops:
- Organize and lead FittoStandard workshops with key stakeholders (business users project team members) to define requirements gather feedback and ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Facilitate discussions to evaluate standard SAP solutions and align them with business processes offering recommendations for process improvements or optimizations.
- Lead workshops aimed at aligning business requirements with system functionalities for effective implementation.
- Activate Methodology Knowledge:
- Apply SAP Activate Methodology throughout the implementation process to ensure a structured and efficient approach to deploying solutions.
- Ensure best practices are followed in project planning execution and delivery phases.
- Provide guidance to the project team on key deliverables milestones and timelines as outlined in the Activate Methodology.
- CrossFunctional Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with functional and technical teams to deliver integrated solutions for pricing trading and risk management.
- Work with IT teams to ensure proper system configurations data integrity and seamless integration with thirdparty systems and external platforms.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on project progress challenges and milestones.
- Risk Management & Compliance:
- Manage the compliance of all pricing and trading processes with industry standards and regulatory frameworks ensuring risk mitigation strategies are in place.
- Work closely with the legal and compliance teams to ensure that all contracts pricing models and transactions adhere to the latest compliance and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Business Administration Information Technology or a related field. Advanced certifications or Masters degree in relevant fields is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 710 years of handson experience in Oil & Gas midstream and downstream sectors particularly in Hydrocarbon Sales Supply Pricing CTRM and CPE systems.
- 3 years of experience with S/4 HANA Greenfield implementations particularly in the context of Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) solutions.
- Demonstrated expertise in leading FittoStandard workshops and applying SAP Activate Methodology to largescale implementation projects.
- Extensive experience in implementing and configuring Commodity Pricing Engines (CPE) and Commodity Trading & Risk Management (CTRM) systems.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in S/4 HANA with strong knowledge of SAP modules relevant to the Energy sector including MM (Materials Management) SD (Sales and Distribution) TRM (Treasury and Risk Management) and CPE modules.
- Strong understanding of commodity pricing trading and risk management concepts in the oil & gas sector.
- Proficient in working with SAP Activate Methodology to drive effective project implementation.
- Experience with data migration system integration and business process optimization within the energy trading domain.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership organizational and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage crossfunctional teams.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders and manage expectations at all levels of the organization.
- A proactive problemsolver with a strategic mindset and ability to work under pressure.
Additional Information:
- Travel: Occasional travel may be required depending on the project location and customer requirements.
