Summer Overview

 
  • Program Dates: June 10 2025 August 15 2025
  • Staff SetUp Days: Tuesday June 10 Thursday June 12 (Staff Only)
  • Youth Program Dates: Friday June 13 Friday August 15
  • Program Closures: June 19 July 3 and July 4
 

Staff Time Off:  Up to 5 unpaid days may be taken during the summer.
Program Hours:  Monday Friday: 6:30 AM 6:00 PM

  • Employment Dates:E June 10 2025 August 15 2025 (includes presummer planning and meetings).
  • Work Hours/typical shift: Hours may vary to 8 hours/day.

  • Rush Creek Elementary

Additional Notes:

 
  • Staff hours and locations may be adjusted based on youth attendance staffing needs or field trips.
  • All staff are expected to work through August 15 2025.
 

  Who We Are 

Kidstop offers a robust summer experience for incoming K5 youth serving around 1100 plus working families during the summer months. We are committed to providing an enriching caring safe and equitable environment with fun and exciting choices for youth to engage in daily.

 
  • Youth experience a choicebased environment with ageappropriate activities and field trips.
  • We build relationships with students learn what youth want to do and implement their ideas.
  • We support all youth building in accommodations as needed.
  • Youth are grouped by grade levels within each building: K1 23 and 45.
 

The Position: Kidstop Instructors help and assist youth throughout the day by providing active supervision in multiple spaces along with leading and creating enriching opportunities for youth across different age groups or groupings abilities and identities.  Most shifts are during the core hours of our program.

Responsibilities

Health and Safety

 
  • Follow all District program and building health and safety procedures.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing accidents/incidents concerning youth/staff with the site Program Leaders and/or families as needed.  
 

Supervision and Security

 
  • Support and actively supervise all youth in the program at all times.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of youth and families.
  • Assist in field trips as needed and/or support the overall program by adjusting hours and/or locations.
 

Communication Teamwork and Partnerships

 
  • Work in collaboration with Program Leaders and all staff to maintain the wellbeing of youth in the program.
  • Follow up on areas with families around concerns or general feedback complete documentation/communication forms as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service to our youth staff and families. This includes greeting and ensuring youth are signed in/out of our program.   
  • Perform additional site duties as assigned.
 

Inclusive environment

 
  • Assist with medical physical or behavioral needs as necessary
  • Operate adaptive equipment (i.e. wheelchairs augmentative communication devices assistive technology) and ensure their safe and proper use as needed.
  • Assist youth with selfcare tasks (i.e. feeding dressing toileting).  Lifting moving and transitioning may be necessary for repositioning and/or functional tasks as needed.  Under the direction of a licensed school nurse or registered nurse perform basic medical procedures to include but not limited to tube feedings seizure recognition and precautions etc.
  • Observe collect document and report data as directed through an Individual Education Plans (IEP) if applicable. Communicate with appropriate personnel as dictated by Federal Education Reporting Practices Act (FERPA) and District and program policies.
  • Dedicated to creating and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment to all families scholars and staff regardless of abilities ethnicities genders and religious beliefs.
 

Quality programming 

 
  • Support create and lead/facilitate a variety of enriching activities that promote social and emotional and overall well being of our youth.  Areas could include health/fitness science social skill building literacy music art service learning.  
  • Lead youth in small and/or large groups.  Assist staff as needed with activities. 
  • Engage with youth to meet their social emotional intellectual and physical needs.
  • Active supervision and role modeling positive interactions and leadership.
  • Carry out the mission philosophy policies and procedures of the District and Kidstop guidelines and expectations.
  • Gather input from youth and staff in developing activities camps clubs service learning projects and activities.  Capture youth voice.
  • Ensure all supplies are ordered organized and available to help lead or set up activities.
 

Professional Development

 
  • Complete a background check prior to working in our program and any other additional paperwork prior to the summer starting.
  • Attend staff meetings inservice training/workshops and program sponsored events.
 

Qualifications:

 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have 12 semester credits or more in the area of child development area
  • Must have 2080 hours of direct work experience within the Kindergarten5th grade age group.
  • Create lesson plans to assist in implementing and leading educational/enrichment activities for youth.  Areas could include health/fitness science social skill building literacy music art service learning.  Capture youth voice.
  • Skills that include organization flexibility confidence patience understanding teamwork and communication.
