JOB OVERVIEW
Job Title: Physician Emergency Medicine
Job Type: Locum Tenens
Location: Minot ND
Service Setting: Acute Care Hospital
Coverage Type: Clinical Only
Coverage Period: 01/03/2025 August 2025
Clinical Shift Schedule: 5 x 8hour shifts; 11 PM 11 AM for 67 shifts per month
PATIENT INFORMATION
Patient Demographics: Infants Pediatrics Adolescents Adults Geriatrics
Patient Volume/Census: 1 2 patients per hour in a doublecovered ED; annual volume 30000
Admissions: Approximately 25% of cases are admitted
Rounding: Not Included
Case Mix: Emergency cases; complex trauma and critical/unstable cases diverted by air or ambulance
FACILITY INFORMATION
No. of Beds in Department: 318
Trauma Level: Level II ED
EMR System: Cerner
Specialty Backup Available: Major subspecialties including hospitalists cardiology neurology general surgery neurosurgery ENT trauma surgery pediatrics radiology anesthesiology etc.
Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
Temporary Privileges Available: No
Credentialing Timeline: 60 days (licensed); 90 days (unlicensed)

Travel Lodging and Malpractice Insurance: Not specified
REQUIRED PROCEDURES
Emergency care in a Level II trauma facility
Writing holding orders for patient transition to floor care
No responsibility for running codes or admitting outside the ED
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Licenses: Active North Dakota license or IMLC (preferred)
Certifications: ACLS ATLS PALS DEA
Experience: Minimum 12 years preferred; Board Certified or Eligible within 5 years of training (ABEM)
Other Qualifications: Proficiency with Cerner EMR
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide emergency medical care at a Level II ED
Manage diverse emergency cases averaging 1.7 2.0 patients per hour
Collaborate with specialty backup staff for patient care
Maintain high standards of patient safety and care
