Roles and responsibilities
AutoCAD Engineer is responsible for preparing all sketches drawings and models to support new build, refurbishment and modification proposals supporting the Business Development team and Majid ALFUTTAIM Retail operational requirements.
ROLE PROFILE
- Carry out field surveys and measurements using Land surveying techniques to collect site, building and facility measurement data for upload into appropriate CAD outputs.
- Analyse building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements as well as other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs.
- Lay-out and plan interior arrangements for commercial buildings using computer-assisted drafting equipment and software.
- Operate computer-aided drafting equipment or conventional drafting station to produce designs, working drawings, charts, forms and records.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant technical information sources, drafting standards, equipment, techniques and software applications.
- Prepare, update and maintain all drawing versions and document referencing protocol.
- Develop or configure document management system features, such as user interfaces, access profiles and document workflow procedures.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to improve leadership and technical skills pertaining to the direct line of work.

Drafting and Design:
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD software.
- Interpret project requirements and translate them into accurate designs and blueprints.
- Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, standards, and client requirements.

Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to gather design requirements and feedback.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of designs.

Revisions and Updates:
- Modify existing designs based on feedback, technical changes, or project updates.
- Maintain a record of design changes and ensure version control.

Quality Assurance:
- Review designs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with technical standards.
- Conduct regular checks to identify and correct errors in drawings.
Desired candidate profile
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture / Interior Design
0-3 years' experience.
Highly organized with strong multitasking skills.
Good time management skills.

High attention to detail.
Proficiency in AutoCAD:
Advanced skills in 2D and 3D design, layout creation, and file management.
Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of engineering principles, design standards, and industry-specific requirements.
