Job Description

We are expanding our multidisciplinary team supporting NDIS participants living in the Wollongong region and would welcome an early career or experienced Occupational Therapist looking to make a meaningful and rewarding impact in their local community.

We hope to empower participants by:

  • Using a strengthsbased approach to guide our assessment goals and ultimately our intervention
  • We use a combination of standardised and nonstandardised assessment curated to the participants needs to guide our clinical reasoning
  • Exploring and navigating complex cases engaging in 1:1 supervision as well as team and national based inservices are just some of the ways you can expect to be supported

On a daily basis you will be:

  • Managing an allocated caseload and completing therapeutic services in a timely manner
  • Assessing participants emotional psychological cognitive developmental and physical level of function and capacity through clinical observations and standardised assessments
  • Interpreting findings to formulate treatment goals unique to each participant
  • Providing therapeutic interventions that are evidencebased and help participants get more out of life
  • Providing support and advice on adaptations to the environment including home school work and residential facilities
  • Recommending provision of Assistive Technology to assist participants with their functional limitations and to promote independence
  • Maintaining awareness of current legislation to ensure compliance

Qualifications :

To be considered suitable you will have:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist
  • Excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
  • Proactive attitude motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas
  • Looking for a fun collaborative and supportive work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • A genuine passion for working in the disability sector
