Job Description
ServiceNow is looking for a Technical Accounting Director who has a positive attitude highly motivated to learn and grow within the organization with proven ability to thrive successfully in a fastpaced multitaskoriented environment. In this critical role you will collaborate closely with stakeholders throughout the Company ensuring the successful execution of key initiatives within the Finance organization. This is a highprofile position that will play a critical role in technical accounting and other reporting related matters. This role will report to the Sr. Director SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting.
What you get to do in this role:
- Research and document the Companys technical accounting issues; present and resolve the Companys positions for critical accounting issues with external auditors
- Monitor assess and implement new accounting pronouncements applicable to the company and partner with stakeholders to analyze the impact
- Lead purchase accounting valuation and integration of mergers and acquisitions
- Subject matter expert for certain technical accounting areas such as investment accounting goodwill and intangible asset impairment testing accounting for sharebased compensation programs revenue accounting matters (payments to a customer gross versus net) amongst other complex accounting areas
- Manage coordinate and lead a team in monthly quarterly and yearend accounting close activities
- Lead the development and provide growth opportunities to the existing technical accounting team
- Be a trusted business partner and advisor to various stakeholders within Accounting Finance Legal Corporate Development and other crossfunctional teams
- Take initiative for process improvements to scale and optimize the technical accounting process
- Design implement and maintain effective global accounting policies processes procedures and internal controls
- Coordinate audit support with external auditors
- Take a leadership role in special projects and workflow process improvements
- Involvement in the SEC reporting process and help ensure the financial statements are in compliance with US GAAP
- Involvement in ESGreadiness procedures as it relates to CSRD and other regulatory requirements
Qualifications :
To be successful in this role you have:
- 12 years of total experience to include a minimum of 45 years of Big four public accounting experience
- BS/BA degree in Finance or Accounting and CPA is required
- Sr. Manager role in a Big four public accounting firm and/or Director Technical Accounting at a public company
- A strong team player with a positive serviceoriented attitude
- Strong technical accounting background with a knowledge of US GAAP SOX 404 and SEC reporting standards as well as experience with technical research
- A proactive approach to problem identification and remediation solutions the ability to communicate effectively and build relationships across all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently complete work timely and work well as a team member
- Strong organization and problemsolving skills
- Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problemsolving environment
- Meticulous and superior attention to detail
- Experience with SAP
- Strong Excel knowledge
