About the Role:
As a Clinical Counselor for SARC you will play a vital role in creating a safe and welcoming environment for residents of our shelter. The Clinical Counselor:
- Counsels individuals and groups regarding psychological or emotional concerns.
- Develops and implements therapeutic treatment plans.
- Plans and administers therapeutic interventions such as behavior modification and stress management to assist clients with emotional regulation.
- Changes method and degree of therapy when indicated by client reactions.
- Provides crisis intervention advocacy and safety planning.
- Conducts biopsychosocial assessments with clients.
- Assists with scheduled and unscheduled helpline and chat calls during business hours as needed.
- Completes treatment plan with client input and revises/updates this plan quarterly.
- Consults with Clinical Director on cases and treatment plan and amends plan as directed.
- Refers client to supportive services to supplement treatment and counseling as needed.
- Maintains accurate uptodate records on ETO of all contacts with clients.
- Reports statistics for each client.
- Other duties as assigned by Clinical Director.
Schedule:
This is a fulltime position MondayFriday. Primary schedule will be 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST with two days per week working 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.
This position may be completely remote but applicants must live within a reasonable distance of our Bel Air office for occasional inperson meetings and events.
Salary:
$60000 to $70000 per year based upon experience and licensure.
This is a salaried exempt position.
Requirements
Necessary Skills:
- Ability to work under pressure with time constraints.
- Knowledge and adherence to laws procedures and ethical standards of the counseling profession.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations.
- Excellent listening skills.
- Ability to understand and apply relevant therapy concepts.
Requirements for Consideration:
- Master s degree in Psychology Social Work or related field.
- LCSWC LCPC or LMSW required.
- Must be licensed in the state of Maryland.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in teletherapy.
- Experience working with both children and adult populations.

Necessary Skills: Knowledge of intensive psychosocial services, such as casework, group work, and individual and family therapy. Ability to work under pressure within time constraints. Knowledge of and adherence to laws, policies, procedures, and ethical standards of the counseling profession. Willing and able to attend ongoing Trauma Informed Care trainings and webinars to stay current with trends in intervention. Excellent speaking and listening skills. Requirements for Consideration: Minimum of a Bachelor s Degree is required, preferably within Human Services. Previous experience managing people. Valid driver s license and a clean driving record within the provisions of the agency s policy. The ability to complete SARC s 30-hour Basic Crisis Response training within 3 months of the date of hire. Preferred Experience: Experience working with vulnerable populations and victims/survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and stalking.
