Join us as R&D Food Safety intern at our international headquarters in Utrecht starting in March 2025.
In this internship you will be responsible for conducting research and evaluating the food safety and quality of plantbased beverages with the objective to identify food safety risks and identify mitigation strategies. This role provides handson experience in food safety assessment risk analysis and the development of food safety protocols.
Your key activities will be:
- Conduct a literature review of the food safety (microbiological allergens and chemical contaminants) risks for dairy alternative milks (risks and mitigation practices)
- Industry best practices for managing dairy alternatives food safety risks
- Understanding compliance with local national and international food safety regulations.
- To understand the main causes of recalls in the dairy alternative milk industry
- To summarize findings of the research
- Conducting and documenting food safety assessment of dairy alternative milks
- Understand potential mitigation strategies for main food safety risks.
- Determine food safety protocols to ensure food safety of the category
- Prepare reports and documentation of food safety assessments and findings.

Heres what were looking for:
- Academic Program: You are enrolled in a BSc or MSc program for the entirety of the internship preferably in Food Technology/Science/Quality/Food Safety/Toxicology or related subjects.
- Skillset: You possess strong MS Office skills and fluent proficiency in speaking and written English Having some similar handson experience with food research activities is always a benefit.
- Personal traits: You have a structured approach a driven and energetic personality excellent communication and people skills and the ability to work both in a team and independently.
- Commitment: You are ready to dedicate at least 5 months to this internship preferably from March 2025 until the end of August 2025.
- Availability: You can join the internship for 5 days per week including three days inoffice and one or two days remotely ensuring an ideal balance between collaboration and independence.
