The Resource Coordinator Nurse reflects the mission vision and values of Northwestern Medicine adheres to the organizations Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program and complies with all relevant policies procedures guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts orientation and training of new and existing staff.
- Monitors the orientation of staff and identifies further instructional needs.
- Schedules staff for adequate coverage to meet the needs of the department; maintains attendance records.
- Prioritizes assigns and reviews work; provides feedback to manager regarding staff performance.
- Assists the manager in establishing and evaluating performance expectations for staff.
- Serves as a clinical resource to staff.
- Contains costs while ensuring the department is providing the highest quality of service.
- Ensures staffing levels which meet department guidelines; ensures optimal department coverage and minimal overtime.
- Monitors utilization of supplies and equipment for optimal efficiency and cost containment.
- Supports quality assurance programs for the department.
- Enforces policies and procedures.
- Supervises the operation of clinical practice.
- Provides clinical expertise and support for clinical staff to ensure the delivery of quality patient care.
- Performs ongoing assessment of assigned patients and their significant others biopsychosocial physiological and learning needs as well as communicate to plan of care in coordination with clinical pathway as appropriate.
- Implements appropriate actions from multiple sources (i.e. clinical interventions) to respond to needs of patients and patients significant others.

Qualifications :
Required:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of three years of work experience in a medical or related business.
- Comprehension of insurance plans including HMOPPO POS commercial Medicare Medicaid.
- Solid understanding of patient flow in a medical office.
- Leadership experience.
- Working knowledge of medical software Word and Excel.
- Experience managing daily cash activity and reconciling income reports with daily payments.
- Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse or eligible in the State of Illinois.
- CPR.
Preferred:
- Bachelors degree.
- Knowledge of coding.
- Supervisory experience.
