Position Overview: The Student Counsellor will be responsible for reaching out to potential students through phone calls email and other communication channels to inform encourage and guide them about opportunities to study abroad. The role focuses on building strong relationships with students helping them understand the benefits of studying abroad and convincing them to take the next step in the application process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively reach out to prospective students through cold calling followup calls and emails.
- Respond to inbound inquiries from students and parents regarding study abroad programs.
- Engage with students to understand their academic and career goals aligning them with appropriate study abroad opportunities.
- Provide detailed information on various study abroad programs including destinations universities courses application procedures costs scholarships and visa requirements.
- Convince students about the value and benefits of studying abroad including career growth cultural exposure and academic development.
- Guide students through the entire application process helping them with form submissions document preparation and deadline tracking.
- Answer queries related to documentation requirements and program details.
- Meet or exceed conversion targets by persuading students to commit to applying for and enrolling in study abroad programs.
- Stay updated on trends in the study abroad sector new program offerings and changing visa regulations.
- Gather student feedback to contribute to the improvement of program strategies and counselling techniques.
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree.
- Experience: Prior experience in sales student counselling or working in an education consultancy role is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport with students and parents.
- Strong sales and persuasive skills to encourage students to consider study abroad programs.
