Position Overview:
Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse for our Critical Care Unit (CCU). As a critical care nurse you will be responsible for delivering direct patient care to individuals requiring advanced monitoring and treatment. You will manage and monitor patients with complex medical conditions in need of intensive observation and intervention.
In this role you will be required to operate advanced medical equipment including central lines Alines multiple IVs and ventilatory support devices. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver highquality care across a range of medical and surgical conditions. Additionally you will oversee patient care from admission through discharge including discharge planning and assist with the mentorship and preceptorship of staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients with complex medical and surgical conditions.
- Operate advanced medical equipment such as central lines Alines chest tubes IV pumps and ventilatory support devices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans for critical care patients.
- Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor for any changes in patient status taking prompt action as necessary.
- Assist with precepting and guiding less experienced staff to ensure high standards of care.
- Support discharge planning and patient education ensuring a seamless transition from the hospital to home or other care settings.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures acting as a clinical leader while working with minimal supervision.
- Provide guidance and direction to nursing support staff including LPNs CNAs and housekeeping teams.
Qualifications:
- Education: Degree from an accredited Nursing Program required.
- Experience:
- Experience in an advanced Medical/Surgical Unit and recent Critical Care Nursing experience required.
- Pediatric nursing experience preferred.
- Licensure/Certifications:
- Current Montana RN Licensure required.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- PALS EPNC and TNCC certifications preferred.
- Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of nursing principles and procedures.
- Proficiency with office equipment and medical technology including IV pumps and advanced lifesupport equipment.
- Ability to operate complex medical equipment such as Alines invasive lines and ventilators.
