Position Overview:
Hospital is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse for our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This critical role involves providing direct care to patients with cardiovascular conditions who require advanced monitoring and treatment. You will be responsible for operating complex medical equipment including central lines (Alines) multiple IVs balloon pumps Impella pumps and devices for ventilation support and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).

As a CVICU nurse you will care for patients undergoing cardiac surgeries as well as general medical and surgical patients requiring intensive monitoring. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver highquality patient care and assist in guiding and mentoring nursing staff. The role requires the ability to assess patients implement care plans and take appropriate actions with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care for critically ill cardiovascular medical and surgical patients in the CVICU.
  • Operate advanced medical equipment including Alines cardiac balloon pumps Impella devices chest tubes and CRRT machines.
  • Monitor and assess patients for any changes in condition implementing interventions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and adjust patient care plans ensuring optimal outcomes.
  • Assist with precepting new nursing staff and act as a clinical leader within the team.
  • Provide patient care from admission to discharge including discharge planning and patient education.
  • Supervise and guide nursing support staff including RNs LPNs CNAs and other hospital staff.
  • Maintain adherence to established policies procedures and protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
  • Experience:
    • Experience in an advanced medical/surgical unit with recent critical care nursing experience including cardiovascular surgery care required.
    • 12 years of experience in a Cardiac Surgical ICU preferred.
    • Experience with Impella pumps cardiac balloon pumps and CRRT preferred.
  • Licensure/Certifications:
    • Current Montana RN Licensure required.
    • BLS and ACLS certifications required.
    • PALS certification to be completed within 6 months of hire.
    • EPNC and TNCC certifications preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Advanced nursing knowledge and ability to implement complex nursing procedures.
    • Proficiency in operating medical equipment such as Alines invasive lines and ventilators.
    • Ability to manage multiple IV pumps and other advanced cardiac equipment.
