Overview
A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in providing basic care to patients and assisting them with daily activities. CNAs work under the supervision of registered nurses and are responsible for ensuring the comfort and safety of the patients they care for. Key responsibilities
- Assisting patients with activities of daily living such as bathing dressing and grooming
- Measuring and recording vital signs such as blood pressure temperature and pulse rate
- Ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times
- Assisting with mobility and transfers including using assistive devices
- Providing emotional support and companionship to patients
- Feeding patients and assisting with nutritional needs
- Observing and reporting any changes in patient condition to the nursing staff
- Assisting with medical procedures under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals

- Documenting patient care and interactions accurately
Required qualifications
- Completion of a stateapproved CNA training program
- Passing the state competency exam for CNAs
- Valid CNA certification and registration
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members
