Job Description
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service.
- Accurately ring up sales process transactions and issue receipts.
- Handle cash credit and debit card transactions securely and efficiently.
- Ensure the cash drawer is balanced at the beginning and end of shifts.
- Assist customers with product inquiries and returns.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area.
- Monitor and manage inventory during checkout processes.
- Provide accurate change and verify cash received from customers.
- Assist in bagging groceries or goods for customers.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management.
- Uphold store policies regarding pricing and promotions.
- Resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Perform basic document filing and administrative tasks as needed.
- Assist in training new cashiers on procedures and policies.
- Bachelors Degree Preferred.
- Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is advantageous.
- Strong numerical and mathematical skills.
- Proficient in using cash registers and POS systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in highpressure situations.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure transaction accuracy.
- Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Basic knowledge of retail operations and customer service standards.
- Understanding of cash handling procedures and payment processing.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Integrity and reliability in handling cash and financial transactions.
- Familiarity with sales and promotions and product placement.
- Willingness to assist in other areas of the store as needed.
