Job Description
- Assist in the design and development of web applications using Ruby on Rails.
- Write efficient and maintainable code in Ruby and JavaScript.
- Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle including requirement gathering and testing.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Develop RESTful APIs for seamless communication between the front end and back end.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement responsive and userfriendly designs.
- Debug and resolve issues in existing applications and implement enhancements.
- Work with database systems such as PostgreSQL or MySQL for data storage and retrieval.
- Maintain version control using Git ensuring proper documentation of code changes.
- Participate in Agile development practices including daily standups and sprint planning.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to Ruby on Rails.
- Perform unit tests to ensure the reliability and performance of applications.
- Assist in writing technical documentation for application functionalities.
- Support senior developers in project planning and estimation activities.
- Communicate effectively with the team and stakeholders to clarify requirements and updates.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a relevant field.
- Familiarity with Ruby on Rails and MVC architecture.
- Basic knowledge of frontend technologies including HTML CSS and JavaScript.
- Experience with Git and collaborative software development.
- Understanding of database concepts and experience with SQL.
- Ability to write clean maintainable and efficient code.
- Knowledge of RESTful services and APIs.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (SCRUM Kanban).
- Experience with testing frameworks and tools is a plus.
- A portfolio of projects demonstrating programming skills is desirable.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Basic understanding of DevOps practices is an advantage.
- Selfmotivated with a strong desire to grow in the software engineering field.
