Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with the IB curriculum.
- Create a safe welcoming and stimulating classroom environment.
- Employ diverse teaching strategies to accommodate varying learning styles.
- Facilitate inquirybased learning experiences.
- Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress and adapt instruction accordingly.
- Encourage social interactions among students to promote teamwork and communication.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere that respects and appreciates diversity.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student performance and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and share best practices.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends.
- Integrate technology to enhance the learning experience.
- Organize and manage classroom resources and materials efficiently.
- Facilitate extracurricular activities that promote social and emotional growth.
- Manage classroom behavior and implement positive discipline strategies.
- Act as a mentor to student teachers and interns when applicable.
- Support the schools vision and contribute to its community initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Qualified teacher status or equivalent certification.
- Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a preschool or preprimary setting.
- Strong understanding of child development theories and practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to create detailed lesson plans and educational resources.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a teambased environment.
- Proficiency in integrating modern technology into the classroom.
- Strong organizational and timemanagement skills.
- Willingness to engage in continuing professional development.
- Skill in using formative assessment to inform teaching practices.
- Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
- Understanding of inclusive education practices.
- A genuine passion for teaching and fostering a love of learning in young children.
