Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement innovative and engaging lesson plans for drama classes.
- Teach a variety of acting techniques improvisation and drama theory.
- Encourage students to explore their creativity and express themselves through performance.
- Direct and produce school plays and performances ensuring all students have an opportunity to participate.
- Conduct auditions and assign roles based on student s abilities and interests.
- Organize rehearsals coordinating schedules and ensuring all logistics are managed efficiently.
- Assess students progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued.
- Integrate crosscurricular themes and topics into drama lessons.
- Collaborate with other teachers to organize multidisciplinary projects and performances.
- Introduce students to various theatrical genres and significant works.
- Maintain an organized inventory of costumes props and materials needed for performances.
- Encourage student participation in drama festivals and competitions.
- Communicate with parents about student progress and upcoming performances.
- Attend professional development workshops to enhance teaching techniques.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Drama Theatre Arts Education or a related field.
- Teaching certification or qualification relevant to the ICSE curriculum.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching drama or performing arts at a school level.
- Strong knowledge of various acting methodologies and instructional techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to adapt teaching styles to meet diverse student needs.
- Experience in directing and producing theatrical productions.
- Knowledge of stage production and technical aspects of theater.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students parents and faculty.
- Creative and artistic vision with a passion for teaching drama.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Willingness to attend afterschool and evening events related to performances.
- Experience in conflict resolution and classroom management.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and enthusiastic learning environment.
- A background in various artistic disciplines is a plus.
