Job Description
Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory tests including blood urine and tissue analyses.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Prepare and process specimens for analysis.
- Perform quality control and assurance procedures.
- Analyze test results and correlate findings with clinical data.
- Document and report results timely and accurately.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Train and supervise junior staff and students.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Manage laboratory inventory and supplies.
- Participate in laboratory accreditation processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements.
- Investigate and troubleshoot technical issues in testing procedures.
- Assist in the development of new laboratory protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelors degree in Medical Technology
- Medical Technologist certification (e.g. ASCP AMT).
- State licensure as required in Florida.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety standards.
- Proficiency in laboratory information systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Detailoriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and laboratory data interpretation.
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
- Experience with laboratory accreditation processes is a plus.
- Handson experience with advanced laboratory equipment.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing workflows.
