NICU Director Level III RN Austin TX
Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the NICU ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Lead mentor and manage nursing staff fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
- Develop and implement evidencebased protocols and policies for neonatal care.
- Monitor patient care outcomes and implement strategies for quality improvement.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate comprehensive patient management.
- Ensure effective communication with families providing support and education.
- Participate in budget planning and resource allocation for the NICU.
- Evaluate and address staffing needs to meet patient care demands.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities.
- Stay updated on advancements in neonatal care and integrate best practices.
- Manage and resolve conflicts or concerns within the NICU team.
- Lead quality assurance initiatives and patient safety programs.
- Establish partnerships with external organizations for collaborative care initiatives.
- Engage in research activities to enhance clinical practices within the unit.
- Act as a liaison between the NICU and other hospital departments.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in the state of Texas.
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in neonatal intensive care nursing.
- Previous leadership or management experience in a healthcare setting.
- Certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing (RNCNIC) or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and standards for NICUs.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement clinical protocols.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in the use of electronic health records and healthcare software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
- Ability to respond effectively to emergency situations.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies.
- Experience in patient and family education and support.
