Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to diagnose ocular diseases.
- Perform phacoemulsification cataract surgeries with precision and skill.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for patients based on diagnostic findings.
- Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions as necessary.
- Monitor postoperative recovery and address any complications.
- Educate patients and their families about eye health and surgical procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical records of patient evaluations and treatments.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in ophthalmology and surgical techniques.
- Participate in research and clinical trials to improve patient outcomes.
- Engage in community outreach programs to promote eye health awareness.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior medical staff and residents.
- Attend relevant professional workshops and conferences for continued education.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety protocols during procedures.
- Utilize diagnostic imaging and other technological tools in patient assessments.
Required Qualifications
- Medical degree (MBBS) from a recognized institution.
- Specialization in Ophthalmology (MD/DLO or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical practice.
- Proven expertise in phacoemulsification and cataract surgery.
- Valid medical license to practice in Himachal Pradesh.
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills in ophthalmology.
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and education.
- Proficient in using advanced surgical instruments and technology.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to engage in community service and outreach initiatives.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Ability to handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Adept in performing comprehensive eye exams and assessments.
- Knowledge of ophthalmic research and clinical trials is an advantage.
