Job Requirements and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of a Plant Accountant include maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable payroll and daily financial entries and reconciliations. They perform monthly quarterly and annual financial reporting and assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts that align with business goals. Additionally the role involves managing internal controls conducting audits and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. A critical part of the job is also to analyze operational costs providing key insights that drive strategic business decisions.
Core Tasks and Duties:
Specific tasks expected of a Plant Accountant encompass:
Recording all transactions in compliance with accounting principles
Preparing and entering invoices bills
Reconciling discrepancies in financial entries
Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
Maintaining general ledgers
Ensure timely payments to all stakeholders.
Reviewing production costs and product line profitability and suggesting improvements.
Assisting in capital asset management and maintaining fixed asset ledgers.
Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
Qualifications / Skills:
Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or Finance
5 years of relevant experience in accounting within a manufacturing or plant setting is highly beneficial
Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office particularly Excel is essential.
Being accurate with numbers and having good quantitative skills
Ability to communicate with clarity both verbally and in writing
Must be thorough with all taxes and compliance like GST TDS and Professional Tax
Able to multitask and prioritize work effectively
