Job Overview:
The DWH L2 Support Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of data warehousing systems by providing advanced technical support. The engineer will troubleshoot escalated issues from L1 support focusing on resolving complex problems related to Talend Oracle and Azure Databricks. This role is ideal for individuals with handson experience in data warehousing and a solid understanding of cloudbased analytics workloads specifically with Azure Databricks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide advanced L2 technical support for Talend Oracle and Azure Databricks environments.
- Analyze logs perform indepth troubleshooting and resolve issues escalated from L1 support.
- Work closely with L3 engineers to perform root cause analysis (RCA) for persistent issues.
- Diagnose network and configuration problems recommending and implementing corrective actions to maintain service levels.
- Data Warehouse Administration:
- Ensure effective governance and administration of data warehousing systems using Talend and Oracle.
- Handson experience with server installation processes for Talend and administration of Talend environments.
- Maintain and optimize Azure Databricks setups for both traditional business analytics and AI workloads.
- Proactive Maintenance & Issue Prevention:
- Proactively propose workarounds and longterm solutions to minimize system downtime.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to improve system performance and ensure optimal uptime for production systems.
- Assist in developing and enhancing monitoring tools and automation for system health checks.
- Collaboration & Documentation:
- Work closely with L1 and L3 teams as well as other technical stakeholders to resolve issues and implement enhancements.
- Document troubleshooting steps solutions and best practices for future reference.
- Participate in regular reviews of system performance and provide input for capacity planning and infrastructure scaling.
Required Skills:
- Technical Proficiency:
- Extensive knowledge of Talend (including administration and server installation).
- Strong experience with Oracle databases and Data Warehousing systems.
- Handson experience with Azure Databricks for handling business analytics and AI workloads.
- Understanding of network configurations server administration and data warehouse governance.
- Problem Solving & Analysis:
- Ability to perform detailed root cause analysis (RCA) and debug complex issues.
- Familiarity with analyzing logs and identifying performance bottlenecks in production systems.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in crossfunctional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to document processes and troubleshoot with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Talend or Azure Databricks is a plus.
- Experience with automation and monitoring tools for data warehouses.
- Prior experience in a similar role providing L2 or L3 technical support.
