Overview
The General Anaesthesia Consultant (MD/DNB/DA) plays a critical role in providing comprehensive anaesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. They are essential in ensuring the safety comfort and wellbeing of patients before during and after surgeries. The primary focus of this role is to administer anaesthesia monitor patient vital signs and manage pain during surgical procedures while also being integral in critical care and emergency responses.
Key responsibilities
- Administer various types of anaesthesia based on patient and surgical requirements
- Monitor patients vital signs during anaesthesia
- Provide preoperative and postoperative anaesthesia care
- Assist in airway management and intubation
- Supervise anaesthesiologist assistants and nurses
- Collaborate with surgical team to ensure patient safety and comfort
- Manage pain and support surgical recovery
- Participate in critical care and emergency response
- Contribute to anesthesia research and education
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and protocols
Required qualifications
- MD/DA/DNB in Anaesthesiology
- Valid medical license and board certification
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in anaesthesia
- Expertise in various anaesthesia techniques including regional general and sedation
- Proficiency in airway management and intubation
- Strong understanding of pain management principles
- Ability to make quick critical decisions in emergency situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
